We're the neighbors who keep McCarren clean and green. Every Sunday, our community crew clears trash and leaves, holds back flooding, and tends the park's gardens and greenery. No experience needed, just show up ready to lend a hand.

The Stewards of McCarren Park are a volunteer crew of neighbors. Rain or shine, we show up on Sundays to do the hands-on work that keeps the park welcoming for everyone who shares it.
Hands-on stewardship
Trash & leaf pickup
We clear litter, empty overflow, and rake up leaves so paths, lawns, and beds stay clean and usable all year.
Flood mitigation
We keep drains and low-lying spots clear so heavy rain moves through the park instead of pooling and washing out the ground.
Gardening & landscaping
We plant, weed, mulch, and prune the gardens and green spaces that make McCarren feel alive and cared for.
Sundays at 9:30 AM
We meet in front of the Park House, rain or shine. Bring water and, if you have them, work gloves. We'll supply the bags, tools, and everything else. Come for an hour or stay the whole morning.
